Welcome Letter From Boston University School of Music Director

Dear Chamber Music Enthusiasts,

We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to the Adult Chamber Community of Boston! Commencing Fall 2024, Boston University’s School of Music will serve as a hub for collaborative music making, facilitated by our talented graduate students and esteemed faculty. Participants will have the unique opportunity to engage in inspiring coaching sessions led by Johnny Mok and Tianhong Yang, both recent alumni of SOM, along with the opportunity to play with and be coached by other advanced graduate students and faculty at Boston University. They will also experience masterclasses by senior SOM faculty and guest artists, including SOM Director and Muir Quartet founding cellist Michael Reynolds, Muir first violinist Peter Zazofsky, and other renowned artists. This program is inspired by Rockport Maine’s Fall Foliage Weekend, which Mr. Reynolds ran for 12 years.

We invite you to join us for any or all of our eight weekend sessions, held monthly from September to May (excluding December). Each session offers not only valuable coaching and masterclasses with our distinguished faculty, but also culminating performances that showcase the collaborative achievements of our community. I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to enrich your musical journey with us at the Adult Chamber Community of Boston. Together, let us create, learn, and be inspired through the great world of chamber music.

Michael Reynolds
Director, Boston University School of Music
Founding cellist, Muir String Quartet
